1. Basis of Presentation
The condensed consolidated financial statements of Lixte Biotechnology Holdings, Inc., a Delaware corporation, and its wholly-owned Delaware subsidiary, Lixte Biotechnology, Inc. (collectively, the Company), at June 30, 2015, and for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014, are unaudited. In the opinion of management of the Company, all adjustments (including normal recurring adjustments) have been made that are necessary to present fairly the financial position of the Company as of June 30, 2015, and the results of its operations for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014, and its cash flows for the six months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014. Operating results for the interim periods presented are not necessarily indicative of the results to be expected for a full fiscal year. The condensed balance sheet at December 31, 2014 has been derived from the Companys audited financial statements at such date.
The statements and related notes have been prepared pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the SEC). Accordingly, certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles have been omitted pursuant to such rules and regulations. These financial statements should be read in conjunction with the financial statements and other information included in the Companys Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2014, as filed with the SEC.
